Early Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child first be seen by age 7. New treatment techniques provide significant benefits for young patients. Early treatment takes advantage of a child’s growth and development to avoid most permanent tooth extractions, to reduce treatment time in full braces and to provide the best and most stable results possible. We emphasize non-extraction treatment.

Comprehensive orthodontic treatment with braces begins when most of the permanent teeth are in place. Today’s braces are less noticeable than ever and won’t interfere with the active lifestyles that children and teenagers enjoy.

Orthodontics is not only for children and adolescents. Today a large number of adults are receiving orthodontic treatment. Often times, our adult patients will take advantage of newer technology, such as clear brackets as opposed to metal brackets. This can be more aesthetically pleasing and help to conceal the braces.
